Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage has its roots in the Ayurvedic system of healing and has been used in India for over a thousand years. Here in the West it has become a popular short seated treatment. Usually it includes massage through clothes to the upper back, neck, arms, head and face. Various specific techniques can aid deep relaxation and help to reduce stress, restoring physical and psychological balance.
Our Course is currently ready for accreditation by FHT, and is run on two full weekends plus a final day including assesssments. Students complete their case study requirements before returning for the final day of the course.
The certificate in Indian Head Massage is eligible to anyone who has a qualification in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology at level 3 or higher and a massage qualification.
Over the course you will learn:

the history and background of IHM
how to give a full client centred treatment
preparation, self care and establishing the therapeutic relationship
Ayurvedic practice and chakras
Relevant anatomy, physiology and pathology
client consultations
advanced techniques
oils and their use with scalp massage
You undertake case studies, written assignments, and theory and practical assessments. Full tuition time for the course is a minimum of 30 hours, and guided home study a further 40 hours.
