Living Pain Free - Myofascial Self Help Techniques - Amanda Oswald

Fascia, the main connective tissue in our body which wraps around and through all structures - bones, blood vessels, nerves and organs. can become restricted. This can be caused by accidents, injuries, scar tissue and surgery, over and under use, posture, stress or, for most of us, some combination of these.

Fascial restrictions can cause chronic pain conditions such as headaches, migraines, TMJ and jaw pain, repetitive strain injury, shoulder impingements, back pain, chronic pelvic pain, knee pain, plantar fasciitis, and systemic conditions such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. many of these conditions are hard to treat medically as the fascial restrictions that cause them don't show up on diagnostic tools such as x-rays and scans.

Myofascial release is both a gentle hands-on therapy that works deeply into the body and an effective self help-technique. It is used to help release the fascial restrictions that are causing pain.

This workshop is a must for anyone interested in the myofascial body, the causes of chronic pain and exploring simple yet effective self-help stretches and exercises. If you live with chronic pain, or know someone who does, this Living Pain Free workshop is designed for you. Run by Amanda Oswald, a leading UK myofascial release specialist and author of the self-help guide Living Pain Free: Healing Chronic Pain with Myofascial Release. 

Places are strictly limited to 6 participants for social distancing reasons. You will be required to wear a face covering or mask throughout the workshop. You will only be working on yourself for this workshop so no need to follow close contact guidelines. The usual Covid-19 checklist questionnaire will be done by telephone the day before the workshop. You will need to bring your own yoga mat: a bolster or pillow to support yourself: a throw or fleece to use for warmth. Further information will be provided in the joining instructions.
